cease to be

cease to be

july 21, 2003

You stare at what you've done,
the blood drips down your face.
You stop to take it in,
then run and leave no trace.

You jump into your car,
the whole gets deeper wide.
She no longer breathes,
the pain still lives inside.

The silence did you in,
the rage snappped you in two.
You scream where no one hears,
what did I just do?

The road is very wet,
and no one knows your name.
Once this blows away,
it all comes back the same.

You think of all you are,
and what she was to you.
You saw her face go red,
then slowly turn to blue.

A pair of lights ahead,
you choose to take control.
Align yourself with peace,
press with all your soul.

The first time in your life,
you feel completely free.
Lift the curse of life,
and pain will cease to be.
