I woke up last night
In fear and in pain
You invaded my dreams
and left me crying again

I dreamed of the happiness
that could have been
It was just a dream though,
I'm alone once again

I dreamed that you saw
that maybe we could be
Then I woke up and remembered
it can't happen to me

I dreamed of the love
that still beats in my heart
I wish it would have left
when we decided to part

I dreamed you asked me to stay
and confided in me
instead I walked out
the end was plain to see

I don't know why
it's better this way
know that I still love you
