small time girl

small time girl

september.1.2004

She dreams so big but cannot seem,
to leave this dying place.
She sets her sights but gets weighed down,
the time wears on her face.

Morning comes and this must stop,
but she gives in to her fears.
I reach my hand and try to help,
but the smile hides her tears.

A small time girl she's doomed to be,
but I know she could be more.
A voice to speak that all will hear,
a life worth dying for.
