This marks the day,
That all of us know.
Why it is easter,
But what do we show?

Easter egg hunts,
And candy to eat.
Have we forgot,
The savior we beat.

We smile so bright,
And live just the same.
But throughout the day,
We forget his name.

The blood the he shed,
As he died for you.
Taken for granted,
But still holding true.
